Homogenizing Furnace

The homogenizing furnace system consists of a homogenizing furnace, a cooling chamber, and a material cart. Through precise temperature control, the homogenizing furnace heats aluminum billets to the appropriate annealing temperature, homogenizing the casting structure and eliminating residual stress, thereby producing aluminum billets with superior properties. 

The cooling chamber uses both cooling air and water to forcibly cool the homogenized aluminum billets, resulting in a fine and uniform grain structure. 

In the semi-continuous casting process of aluminum alloys, the rapid cooling rate causes the alloy composition to solidify under non-equilibrium conditions, leading to segregation, reduced plasticity of the ingots, and poor processing performance, which adversely affects subsequent hot and cold processing. Additionally, during casting, the difference in cooling rates between the surface and the core creates thermal residual stresses, further impacting the hot and cold processing stages. The purpose of homogenization annealing is to heat the ingots to a specific temperature, enhancing atomic diffusion capability, thereby accelerating the transformation from a non-equilibrium to a balanced state, effectively eliminating structural and compositional segregation as well as residual stress.
